Taami is a choice, an invitation.
Taami is an everyday object. To look at. To use.
Its beauty speaks of the meaning of its function.
Taami is an invitation to take care for yourself through one simple gesture.
Taami is time for yourself,
a quiet, necessary pause in the midst of everyday life.
Taami is not about standing still. It is a ritual of balance.
Taami is not a workout. It is a practice.
Taami reminds us that balance is always within reach.
It doesn't replace the gym, it doesn't replace a class. It complements them.
With Taami, you learn to notice the wonder of your body at work.
And as the body moves, the mind grows quiet.
Design to restore balance
Taami was designed by Matteo Ragni, a Milan-based architect and designer and two-time winner of the Compasso d’Oro.
Its design is patented, and Taami is a registered trademark.
“I have always loved sailing and windsurfing: sports where the body is constantly negotiating with a moving surface, never quite the same way twice. I designed Taami to bring that same feeling into a room: not a fixed point to reach, but an ongoing dialogue with movement.
That is why it rocks from side to side, like a boat gently rolling as it searches for the perfect balance between the surface of the water and the force of the wind.
Seen from above, Taami has no sharp edges and no straight lines. From the side, its profile forms a gull-wing shape: feet and hands stay aligned with the floor, rather than being forced into uncomfortable angles, as can happen with other balance boards on the market.
The tools already out there were functional, but cold and technical, with a slightly clinical feel. Taami is an essential, understated and harmonious object, one that deserves to be left on display, not put away in a cupboard after use.” (Matteo Ragni)
